Very good and helpful hotel staff! helped me with my bags and let me check in bit earlier, adding to that they held my bags for hours together, after i checked out ! very good location !
The check-in time is a little too late! It should be the latest at 2 pm !
It has a very good location (close to the beach and the main attractions in Waikiki). The staff was very friendly and helpful.
There is no way to actually shut the windows close, therefore you will feel as if you always have the windows open. That wouldn't really be a problem, however there are trucks delivering all night long, and sometimes buses of tourists arriving early in the morning. We often woke up at 5 or 6 am due to all the noise. Another important aspect that somehow gets omitted until it's too late, is that the so called "multimedia room" that is being put at your disposal isn't free, and nor is the breakfast. Also, you will pay additional taxes for pretty much everything, even though on Booked.net it says that taxes are included. I don't mind paying as long as you are being told in advance, because otherwise, it feels like you're being scammed. Quick example: 1 night amounts to: room with double bed ($111) + Transient accommodation tax ($10) + General Excise Tax ($5) + Amenity fee ($10) + General Excise Tax again ($0.5) = ~$136. My advice, look elsewhere for accommodation.
I loved that the hotel was just a block away from the beach and all the action of Waikiki. Lots of resturants and shopping within walking distance. Very close to the Aloha bus pick up stop to eithier Diamond Head or out to Pearl Harbor.
Has only a view of the street or the next hotel but not too nosiy.
The staff was excellent and helped in every way. Kudos to them.
When they say you pay for what you get, this is it. Take an old building and put a new coat of paint on it and call it new??? Yep that's what was done to this hotel. Rooms are small. I got to my room and just a bunk bed and a dresser. No furniture it sit on. Nothing. Kind of like a dorm room. Hotel is a good place to sleep the the beach is across the street. DON'T LET THE DOG IN THEIR ONLINE PHOTO'S FOOL YOU. THEY ARE NOT ON THE BEACH.
Very nice hotel with spacious rooms close to the sea. It is really forth for money. Personel is ok.
The room did not look anything like the photos on the website! The room was tiny and we had the smallest window above our bed which was our only "view" of Waikiki. The free dvd we watched was scratched and the tv on the wall does not face the bed so it's really difficult to watch. Even though the location was great and it was cheap, I was so happy to leave Stay Hotel!! Wont be returning
The location of the hotel is excellent. The service and efforts of staff was consistently good. Always trying to please.
The ten dollar a day added fee. The WiFi should be free after paying for the hotel fee. No mirrors in room. No fruit for breakfast. Parking is terrible. Additonal $20,00 a day. I parked on Ala Wai Blvd.
It was a little dirty, outdated, not enough color, and bathrooms were small
I loved the Front Desk! Mahalo from a Kamahina!
The location and price is unbeatable. If you are a backpacker and want to spend a bit more to avoid the few Waikiki hostels then this is for you. Very clean, bright, modern and fun lamps. Comfortable beds. A little noisy because of the old louver windows, but I've stayed in fancy hotels in Waikiki and suffered street noise. It's a bustling city. I loved the free and unlimited dvd rentals. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help with directions, organising shuttles, leaving luggage. I had seen quite a few negative reviews about cleanliness, but my room was squeaky clean, and needed no maintenance. My impression was that if you are dissatisfied with anything they would promptly make things right. Some of the rooms are quite small. I went for the twin room which had loads space.
Had I needed to leave my luggage, I would have preferred to leave it in a more secure luggage storage room. Quite a few bags were stored behind reception and I am sure they were perfectly safe, but when you travel with a laptop, cameras etc it's nice to know that your back is locked in a room.
The staff was AMAZING - Very friendly and accommodating. The location was great - One block away from the beach for a great price! They had seats, bamboo sheets to lay on and floaties to borrow as well as beach towels ... THANK YOU!
Not much ... we weren't here to vacation in a hotel room. For my group, a hotel is a place to shower, change and sleep :)
The close proximity to the beach, cafes, bus stops, shopping. I like that it was small and had few extras which encouraged us to go out and explore. I did like the bed linen and the colour scheme of the room. Fresh towels every day. Paul liked the continental breakfast. The iced water in the lobby. The very helpful staff.
I try not to be too critical as I was a cleaner for more than two decades so I do understand the system so the below is not so much a 'didn't like' list but what I did notice list...... The floors of the rooms were gritty as if they had not been swept or mopped between bookings... A sliding door to the bathroom would have made it appear more roomy therefore user and couple friendly... No convenient place to hang toiletry bags in the shower... Having to reach over the toilet to hang towel didn't appeal to me......the back of the door could hold two low profile towel rails... No spare toilet roll....just in case... No convenient out of the way place to put the backpack or luggage for short stays......I live out of my suitcase when I travel and I prefer to put it on a bench.......hanging space and open shelves and bench space is fine.......but I never understand drawers in a hotel as I have never used them for fear of forgetting something when I depart.....but each to their own I suppose... The continental breakfast was all wheat based and not good for the gluten, glucose and lactose intolerant. The water container was not refilled throughout the day... The cleaners didn't understand my requests...
Hotel Staff were very friendly! Internet was avaiable!
Wanted to know the total cost on internet!
Location, close to water, building has 8 floor levels only. Reception staff were friendly and carried out their duties exceptionally well.
Breakfast was the same every morning, no variety and the area was too small. Not enough seats or tables to eat. House keeping staff carrying out their duties with regard to hygiene and replacement accessories was very poor.
The location is good- but I wish I would have spent $50 more dollars and stayed in an actual hotel room...not a hostel-like economy motel.
The room was not anything like the room pictured on the website. It's basically a west elm/ikea-infused hostel. I think they tried to make it cute, but it's really just a cinder block cube/too small hotel. The bathroom was tiny and you can barely close the door behind the sink. No lighting in the room except an ugly LED floor lamp with ambient light.
